I love both of your interpretations of what the flies could mean. I noticed them too but never thought to look into them like you did, awesome. would love to hear your other interpretations of subtle things in this film, its got to be one of my favorites. I love how it doesn't follow the rules like you mention, and the slow buildup really does put the audience into that lazy summer right there with the characters, which allows the relationship between them to be the focus. your critique is spot on too, i would've liked to have felt more attachment to the characters. I loved Elios relationship with his parents. Not all teens are disconnected from their parents rebellious all the time. I liked the mutual respect and love they had for each other throughout the whole movie.

I just dont understand how its possible that i cannot get over this movie, how it pops up in my thoughts everyday and makes me feel really strong emotions as if its happened to me, truly a masterpiece. If you view in 720p hd as everything is fine — looking x/f and enjoy.
“Call me by your name and I call you by mine” still cant get over to this line. The entire movie I thought the dad was Joaquin Phoenix lol wtf.
